Dried mealworms Mealworms for Sale

Short Description:

Dried Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor) are popular feeders for a variety of pet invertebrates, amphibians, and reptiles, particularly leopard geckos. Mealworms are the larval form of the darkling beetle — as are superworms, but the two are different types.

Since mealworms have a harder shell than superworms, certain species may find them more difficult to digest. But they can be a nutritious feeder insect when gut-loaded properly, with moderate amounts of both protein and fat. Mealworms do not have a balanced calcium to phosphorus ratio, so they must be dusted with a high-quality calcium powder before feeding.

Description

Dried Mealworms are enjoyed by a wide variety of species found in your garden, and contain all the protein without the wriggle - perfect if you find handling live foods difficult. Robins in particular love mealworms and would be the most appreciative of this addition to your feeding station.
These Mealworms are be popular with all garden bird species and wildfowl, and are a healthier alternative to bread when feeding at the local duck pond.

Protein is an important nutrient for garden birds throughout the year. In spring, they will be busy finding a home, building a nest, laying eggs and caring for young, which all put tremendous demands on parent birds. And in winter, it is more difficult for them to actually find natural sources of protein-rich caterpillars, bugs and worms. You can do your bit to help by providing a reliable source of protein-rich food such as dried mealworms.
